Photo of TomTom Guettler (thomasguettler@msn.com) joined the board in 2009 and is President of the Board. From 2007-2008 Tom was executive director of Farm in the City in St. Paul, Minnesota, a nonprofit with a mission of “Growing healthy children and communities through urban gardening and environmental arts.” During 2006 he was a board and strategic development consultant at MAP for Nonprofits in St. Paul, Minnesota. From 1973-1982, Tom’s first job was as operations manager and salesperson for his family’s rural Minnesota feed manufacturing plant, agronomy center and grain storage facility. His most recent volunteer work is with the Minnesota Food and Justice Alliance, whose members are working to understand and navigate barriers of race, class and gender that affect the regional food system.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Photo of AmyAmy Fredregill (amy.fredregill@cooperativenetwork.coop) serves as Vice President of the Board. Amy is Vice President of the Cooperative Network, where she has worked since 2003. Fredregill was a legislative aide for the U.S. Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee in D.C. during the 2002 farm bill development, passage and implementation. Previous to that she held positions as a Congressional campaign fundraiser and as a Program Coordinator for a national non-profit organization. She currently serves as a Director on the Board of a St. Paul-based nonprofit organization, the Supervisory Committee for North-country Co-op Federal Credit Union, and served as an Officer for the St. Paul District 6 Planning Council for several years. In 2002 she received a Masters in Public Policy from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she was the Honor Policy Graduate. She received a B.A. in Economics from the College of St. Benedict and currently is a Humphrey Policy Fellow 2008-2009. When not confined indoors, Amy and her husband like to canoe, kayak, hike, backpack, and rock climb and camp.

 

Photo of GregGreg Pesky (gregpesky@gmail.com) joined the board in 2009, and is Secretary/Treasurer. He is a marketing and product management executive, currently serving as the Director of Customer Experience Operations for Advance Auto Parts. He also has had management positions with General Mills and Select Comfort. He currently serves as a Board of Director for the Lee Pesky Learning Center, a Boise, Idaho non profit, and also served as Board President from 2000-2002 for Project Foundation, a Minneapolis-based organization providing transitional housing for homeless teenagers. Greg received a Masters in Business Administration from The Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College and received a B.A. in History from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. He currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife Naomi, daughter Talia and son Levi, and enjoys spending time with his family biking, swimming, and traveling and at the Lake Calhoun playground.

 
Photo of JeanJean Andreasen (jandreas@bitstream.net) is a member at large. Jean held the position of general manager of Pastureland, a small grass-based organic dairy cooperative located in southeastern Minnesota. Prior to coming to Pastureland, she was the Coordinator of Midwest Marketing for Food Alliance, one of the nation's leading certification organizations for agriculture products, which are environmentally friendly and socially responsible. She also served in a number of capacities at Mississippi Market in St. Paul. She was there for a total of thirteen years, the last seven of which she served as Director of Member Services and Outreach. Jean graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a BA in Fine Arts. She currently resides in Saint Paul with her husband Tim and their two cats Tilde and Fionn mac Cumhaill. She enjoys fly-fishing, backpacking, cycling, and knitting.
 
Photo of FredFred Rozumalski (frozumalski@barr.com) is a member at large. Fred is an urban landscape architect practicing sustainable land design ecologist and through Barr Engineering Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His work strives to regenerate ecological systems, while accommodating the needs of people. Fred is also a lecturer on issues of water conservation and human adaptation to our changing climate. He is also adjunct faculty in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Minnesota. His most recent accomplishments include co-authoring a Minnesota DNR-sponsored book, Lakescaping for Wildlife and Water Quality, and winning a National Design Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects Professional Awards for the innovative design of a sedge meadow restoration and interpretive boardwalk at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.
 

Photo of AntonioAntonio Fortes (forte009@umn.edu) joined the board in 2009 and is a member at large. Antonio works at Black River Asset Management as a trader. Antonio has a Master of Business Administration for Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He also has a Ph. D. in Neuroscience from the Graduate School and the School of Medicine, University of Minnesota as well as a B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Brasilia in Brazil.

 
Photo of ScottScott McMahon (scott.h.mcmahon@gmail.com) joined the board in 2009 and is a member at large. Scott McMahon is the director of government and community affairs at the Minnesota Private College Council. He focuses on state-level advocacy and grassroots organizing on the 17 college campuses, as well as community engagement in support of the Council’s public policy agenda. His interests include golfing, water recreation, reading, history and barbequing.
 

Photo of LeahLeah Doerr (lmdoerr@gmail.com ) joined the board in 2009 and is a member at large. As an Associate Program Officer at the Northwest Area Foundation, Leah is helping reduce poverty and build sustainable prosperity in the Foundation’s eight-state region.  She has dedicated her career so far to building the capacity of communities and organizations to effect social change.  Leah holds a B.A. in biology and English from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.  When she’s not enjoying deep mugs of coffee, warm wool socks, and good poetry, she enjoys getting out into the natural beauty of Minnesota.

 

Photo of DaveDave Legvold (dlegvold@rconnect.com ) joined the board in 2009 and is a member at large. Dave is an educator, farmer and former Executive Director of the Cannon River Watershed District. He attended the U of M and graduated with a degree in elementary education major with a science concentration and English minor.  He is married with two sons and 4 golden retrievers.
