2007 Conservation Planning Training Course
Organized by the Minnesota Project
The Minnesota Project, with financial and technical assistance from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), will hold a conservation planning training course in 2007.
This course is designed for individuals who are certified crop advisors and/or those who have at least five years experience in the conservation field with demonstrated whole farm planning skills. Individuals who successfully complete the training course will be certified as Certified Conservation Planners by the Minnesota USDA-NRCS office.
The course will provide classroom and field training sessions necessary to meet minimum demonstrated performance requirements in engineering and non-engineering practices in the General, Cropland, Pastureland and Wildlife categories.
This course will also provide guidance on how conservation planning can best meet the needs of farmers interested in the Environmental Quality Incentive Program, the Conservation Security Program, and for general conservation preparedness for conservation opportunities that are expected to develop in the upcoming farm bill.
Participants are required to complete three conservation plans that are approved by a certified conservation planner. Participants enrolled in this 2007 course will have access to technical and financial assistance in writing their initial plans.
