Local Food: Heartland Food Network

Partner with HFN Today!

Join us! The Heartland Food Network is a network of farmers, chefs, food service professionals all looking to produce and buy more locally grown food in Minnesota.

Mission:  Heartland Food Network strives to promote the increased consumption of local foods in Minnesota every year. We believe that everybody deserves fresh, locally grown food, and we work to increase access to this food for all Minnesotans. We support local farmers by increasing the demand for fresh, local products in establishments across the state.

How We Work: We work directly with Minnesotan chefs, caterers, colleges, and other food service professionals to help them purchase and use more locally grown ingredients in their establishments.

Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a partner. We can help you find, use and promote your use of local food to your customers. We have a varying fee schedule for this assistance.

Membership Benefits:

Help finding local food:

  • We provide you with a tailored list of farmers and other sources of local food that is tailored to your needs and introduce you to sources of local products to meet your needs. We can assist you with making connections to farmers.

Media Exposure:

  • We promote your business as a user of local food on the Heartland Food Network website, the Minnesota Project Blog, and via our Facebook and Twitter accounts and via our partners at Minnesota Cooks, Edible Twin Cities, and more.
  • HFN has a presence at statewide public events like conferences, MN State Fair’s Eco Experience, and Mill City Farmers Market. Your name will be included in promotional materials at these events. Last year at the State Fair we handed out over 8,000 promotional pamphlets!

Use of the HFN Logo:

  • The Heartland Food Logo demonstrates your dedication to locally grown, sustainable food to your customers. You can include this logo in your own published materials or website to show your support for locally grown foods in Minnesota.
