Local Food: Our Program Initiatives

Connecting Immigrant Farmers to Sustainable Markets Project

We worked with the Farmers’ Legal Action Group and other organizations to help immigrant farmers access new markets beyond the traditional farmers’ markets.  In 2011 for example, Hmong farmers sold to Macalester College and the University of St. Thomas Dining Services as well as several local restaurants.  Support Hmong farmers by trying new vegetables!  Look for Daikon Radish, Thai Eggplant, Long Beans, Chinese Broccoli and Kabocha Squash at the market.
